Dr. Clyde Billington

Dr. Charles Aling

Dr. Charles Aling, a Professor of History at Northwestern College for more than seventeen years, earned his Ph.D. in Ancient History and Egyptology from the University of Minnesota. In addition to his tenure in the classroom, Dr. Aling has been Assistant Field Director on two archaeological expeditions to the Valley of the Kings in Egypt. He is the author of Egypt and Bible History: From Earliest Times to 1000 BC, a book in which he critically argues that archaeology supports the biblical dating of historical events and that these dates are trustworthy. He has made notable contributions to the Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society. He is a frequent lecturer and was recently the plenary speaker at the International Symposium on Archaeology where he argued in defense of the biblical account.

Dr. Clyde Billington is currently an associate professor of ancient and medieval history at Northwestern College in St. Paul, MN where he has taught for more than ten years. Clyde has a B.R.E. Degree from Baptist Bible College of Pennsylvania, a B.A. Degree from the State University of New York at Binghampton, and M.A. and Ph.D. Degrees from the University of Iowa in ancient history. He is the managing editor of Artifax magazine, which covers news relating to Biblical Archaeology from the Middle East. Clyde is also the Executive Director of the Institute for Biblical Archaeology, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Near East Archaeological Society. He is married to his high school sweetheart Ellie. Some of his former students are now attending Oxford University, Harvard University, the University of Chicago, Dallas Theological Seminary, Trinity International University, and the University
of Minnesota.
